RailFocus

A desktop-first web platform for UK train driver assessment practice, with timed aptitude modules, progress tracking, a roadmap to assessment day, and an Assessment Day Simulator that mirrors how selection is usually taken on a computer. Built for candidates who need proper desk-based practice with a mouse and keyboard, not just phone drills.

The challenge

Train driver selection is almost always done on a computer, yet a lot of practice material is still paper-based or locked inside a phone app. That leaves candidates without a realistic place to sit the formats under timed conditions, see how they are scoring, and work through a clear plan in the weeks before assessment day.

What I built

  1. Desktop-first aptitude modules that match how the real assessments are taken
  2. A clear roadmap so practice builds toward assessment day instead of random drills
  3. An Assessment Day Simulator for a full run-through under timed conditions
  4. Score tracking so candidates can see progress and weak spots over time
