Man's Search for Meaning

Viktor E. Frankl

Viktor Frankl was a psychiatrist who survived Auschwitz and other camps during the Holocaust. The first half of the book is what he saw and lived through there. The second half explains his idea that people can endure almost anything if they have a reason to keep going. He calls that search for purpose logotherapy. At its core, the book asks what makes life worth living when everything else has been taken away.

What stayed with me was his point that suffering is not optional, but how you respond to it is.
